Welcoming gates part and you enter an alternative universe. Anchored by three lagoons with waterfalls and lush islands, one hundred forty-one unique sites are spread throughout fifty-four acres. When you meander throughout the resort, you realize that there are exquisite views of the surrounding mountains from the north, east, south and west. Each property has a large concrete pad and patio next to a 1,200 square-foot casita. With a one and a half-car garage fronting the street, each casita is uniquely designed and decorated. Many properties have pools, spas, outdoor kitchens or barbeque complexes, and fire pits that invite entertaining. Lush desert gardens create privacy on each side of the casita. The landscaped and grassy common area and a lagoon punctuated with verdant islands provide privacy from the casita on the opposite side of the lagoon.
Designed as an owner-occupied Motorcoach and RV resort, owners get to know their neighbors during the high season that seems to begin earlier and last longer each year. Long-term lease of properties is possible if offered by the casita owner.
Activities are numerous, both spontaneous and organized. Everything from off-road jeep caravans, cruising on motorcycles, needle therapy, men’s night out dinner and cards at the clubhouse, women’s luncheons, an annual breakfast that men cook and serve to the women residents, and community pot lucks and catered events occur each season. And there are always enthusiastic residents that create new activities that catch on and become recurring events.
Five o’clock in the evening, golf carts are backed out of the garage and taken for a spin throughout the resort. A welcoming flag signals that a casita is encouraging visitors to stop for a chat, a glass of wine or to suggest getting together for a meal, either then or later.
Desert Shores Motorcoach Resort is a residential Motorcoach and RV resort located in the Coachella Valley (near Palm Springs) in Southern California (map).  Our  unique home incorporates large individual properties with a concrete pad for luxury thirty-six foot and larger Class A motor homes, a casita for living and entertaining and a garage for a vehicle and a golf cart. Large backyards reflect the community’s dual interest in both privacy and entertaining. Quiet luxury and welcoming neighbors entice residents and newcomers alike.
